Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026
A 24-Hour Conference-a-Thon
To mark International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026, and building on the success of our 2025 conference-a-thon, we invited scholars, practitioners and enthusiasts to submit abstracts for participation in a free, online, global 24-hour symposium celebrating the contributions of women to the medium of photography — from its public announcement in 1839 to the present day.
This distinctive free event will feature 72 speakers and aims to showcase the diverse and far-reaching work of women and female-identifying photographers, as well as researchers, curators and practitioners engaging with photography. Participants will represent countries, continents, cultures and time zones across the globe — all without the financial or environmental costs of travel or registration fees.
A full schedule is available under the “2026 Conference Schedule” tab at the top or bottom of this page. Please note that all times are listed in UTC+0. We recommend using this time zone converter (which automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time in the United States):
