Overview of the launch and presentation of the 6th edition of Sophia Journal

Last 21st of April, by 18h30, took place at the headquarters of Ordem dos Arquitetos Secção Regional Norte (OA SRN) the launch and presentation of the 6th edition of Sophia Journal - ‘Visual Spaces of Change: photographic documentation of environmental transformations’.
The event was attended by Conceição Melo, president of OASRN, who was responsible for the opening presentation and by Bruno Baldaia, vice-president of OASRN, who Introduced the publication. After the intervention of Wilfried Wang titled Image and Conscience, the debate began with the moderation of Pedro Leão Neto, having the participation of Wilfred Wang (invited editor), Carolina Leite (CEAU / FAUP) and Bruno Baldaia (OASRN).
The debate proceeded informally and allowed a broad reflection about diverse issues brought by the intervention Image and Conscience, enabling the table to address and discuss several of the photography projects and articles published in this 6th edition of Sophia Journal. The published work shows howphotography is explored as a significant research tool for critical and innovative views on architecture and urban transformation in their expanded fields and contextualized by larger systems: cultural, political, artistic, technical, and historical dimensions.
